The business has announced today that Twitter workers will be operating from home to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Already in an announcement earlier last week, Twitter “strongly urged” staff to do so, but made the order compulsory worldwide from March 12th.
Twitter will continue to pay regular working hours to contractors. The business shall also reimburse the cost of home office setup expenses and the cost of extra day-care costs for parents.
Similar advice has been given to workers in various regions by Tech firms including Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Google but the order of Twitter to its entire 4,900 global workforce is among the strongest yet during the ongoing coronaviral disease pandemic.
