Computex 2020 officially cancelled

After an initial postponement, due to the pandemic, from June to September, organizers have cancelled Computex 2020. Like several other technology events scheduled for 2020, the event will not take place this year. The following Computex event is scheduled for June 2021.

In Taipei in September, several participants could not take part in a show, as the organizers stated in a blog post, due to the pandemic and the subsequent travel restrictions to limit the spread of coronavirus. Taiwan was praised for the treatment of patients and for the introduction of travel limits comparatively early as opposed to the rest of the world.

According to organizers, Computex 2019 drew nearly 43,000 visitors from 171 nations. This is not the only annual technology exhibition to cancel its 2020 event. In February, MWC cancelled its 2020 exhibition and in March, E3 was cancelled about the time Google cancelled its 2020 exhibition. Some other events, such as the conference of the Facebook F8 developers, chose to carry out the event virtually.
